Pictures of Lake Harvey

Putting in by the townhomes at the Northeast corner of the lake.

From the same spot looking South

.

Paddling South towards Hawthorne Mall and looking at the townhomes to the East.

The mall can just be made out in the center of the background.

Shoreline erosion is certainly a concern.

Eurasian Milfoil (Myriophyllum) is the dominant aquatic plant.

I spotted several Great Blue and Green Herons..

This is the area along the South side of the lake. I hope the big Cottonwoods don't go if we put in the ephemeral ponds.
However, the ephemeral ponds are a great idea because I didn't find any frogs or salamanders.

A quiet little bay at the NorthWest corner of the lake.

I saw lots of other birds including goldfinches,
woodpeckers, doves and sparrows. Having large artificial nesting and roosting trees will be necessary, especially if
the large dead trees are removed.

The island is mainly Buckthorn with a few large
trees. This island will be difficult to mediate, but it might provide good nesting areas for birds and herps. I found the substrate to be
sandy/gravel in much of the lake, which would be good for turtles.

Closeup of the shoreline of the island.
